The Center for Children and Women is closing

Both locations of The Center for Children and Women will be closing. The Greenspoint location will close December 1, 2023 and the Southwest location will close on June 30, 2024. These closures will not change your coverage with Texas Children's Health Plan. If you have questions about your care, please contact The Center for Children and Women at 832-828-1005. Provider Departure

Dr. Sara Curtis will no longer be providing care at The Centers for Children and Women after September 19, 2023. If you are a patient of Dr. Curtis, please call us at 832-828-1005 to schedule your appointment with another provider. We thank Dr. Curtis for her many years of service at The Centers!

Policy update

Starting on January 2023. Minors that do not come with a legal parent or guardian must get verbal approval to receive care.

A parent or guardian must be at the first visit to complete forms. For each visit after, the parent or guardian can call from then on. Parents must speak with the care team for medical related questions.

Health Care

The Center for Children and Women is dedicated to providing the safest and most convenient care for your family. We work hard to make sure that your children receive high quality service. 

We are here when you need us for:

  • Well-child care 
  • Sports physicals 
  • Sick visits 
  • Minor procedures 
  • 24-Hour Nurse Help Line 

We are open for in-person appointments:   

  • Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. 
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

We are also open for telehealth visits (phone and video): 

  • Monday – Friday: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. 
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. 
  • Sunday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Pharmacy

We have an on-site pharmacy, so we can make sure the medications your child needs are ready for you without a long wait. For your safety and convenience, we also offer curbside pick-up.

If you choose to use our pharmacy, you will receive detailed information on how to give the medications to your child.

In-person and curbside pick-up hours for the pharmacy are:

Greenspoint

  • Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Curbside Only)

Southwest

  • Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Curbside Only) 

Dental

A team from Baylor College of Medicine is here to provide the best oral health care for your child. Our dentists, dental hygienists, and other professionals work closely with the other care teams on site.

We are available for all primary dental needs such as:

  • Preventive services (cleanings and sealants).
  • Emergency visits.
  • General dental care (fillings and other services).

Vision 

We have an optometrist on site. This makes it easy to keep up with your child’s eye exams. We also offer glasses. Be sure to check out the many styles for children of all ages. Vision care is available on Saturdays and some late evenings, too. 

Labs

We provide basic laboratory tests and x-rays. You get the results quickly while you wait. No more running across town for another appointment to get lab tests done. Your doctor can make informed decisions about your child’s care quickly without having to wait days for results.

Behavioral Health 

We can help your family with behavioral and emotional issues. Our behavior team is located on site with your primary care doctor, so we can make sure we address all of your needs as a team. 

Our behavioral health team consists of:

  • Social workers.
  • Therapists.
  • A psychologist.
  • A psychiatrist.

Nutrition

Our registered dietitians work with our health care providers to help with your child's dietary needs. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are individual visits and group classes.

Topics include:

  • Dietary needs for baby
  • Sports nutrition
  • Weight management
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
  • Picky eating
  • Food allergies

Speech Therapy

Your child can receive speech therapy services at one of our convenient locations in Houston. The Center for Children and Women – Greenspoint and The Center for Children and Women – Southwest both offer flexible appointment hours to accommodate patient needs.
