Services For Children

Health Care

At The Center for Children and Women, our pediatric team makes sure your infant, child, or adolescent receives the best care. Open 7 days a week, and until 9 p.m. weeknights, we are here when you need us for:

  • Well-child care.
  • Sports physicals.
  • Sick visits.
  • Minor procedures.
  • 24-Hour Nurse Help Line.

A team from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry is here to provide the best oral health care for your child. Our dentists, dental hygienists, and other professionals work closely with the other care teams on site. We are available for all primary dental needs such as:

  • Preventive services (cleanings and sealants).
  • Emergency visits.
  • General dental care (fillings and other services).

We have an optometrist on site. This makes it easy to keep up with your child’s eye exams. We also offer glasses. Be sure to check out the many styles for children of all ages. Vision care is available on Saturdays and some late evenings, too.

We have an on-site pharmacy, so we can make sure the medications your child needs are ready for you without a long wait. The pharmacy and pediatric team work together to make sure you know how to give medications to your child. The pharmacy is open 7 days a week, so you can always get your refills.

We provide basic laboratory tests and x-rays. You get the results quickly while you wait. No more running across town for another appointment to get lab tests done. Your doctor can make informed decisions about your child’s care quickly without having to wait days for results.

Behavioral Health

We can help your family with behavioral and emotional issues. Our behavior team is located on site with your primary care doctor, so we can make sure we address all of your needs as a team.

Our behavioral health team consists of:

  • Social workers.
  • Therapists.
  • A psychologist.
  • A psychiatrist.

Our registered dietitians work with our health care providers to help with your child's dietary needs. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are individual visits and group classes.

Topics include:

  • Dietary needs for baby
  •  Sports nutrition
  •  Weight management
  •  Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
  •  Picky eating
  •  Food allergies
