Policy update

Starting on January 2023. Minors that do not come with a legal parent or guardian must get verbal approval to receive care.

A parent or guardian must be at the first visit to complete forms. For each visit after, the parent or guardian can call from then on. Parents must speak with the care team for medical related questions.

Come trick-or-treat and get a flu shot!

Prepare for this flu season at the Texas Children’s® Health Plan – The Center for Children and Women’s Boo to flu event! At our event, you can:

  • Wear your spookiest costumes
  • Trick-or-treat for fun goodies
  • Strike a pose in the photo booth
  • Pick and decorate your own pumpkin
  • Meet and greet your favorite superheroes and princesses
  • Have fun in our children’s area
  • Get your flu shot

Center for Children and Women patients can schedule their flu1 vaccines during our event by calling 832-828-1005.

Not a patient of the Center for Children and Women? Your children may also qualify to receive a flu vaccine at no cost2 from the Texas Children’s Mobile Clinic by scheduling an appointment at the Boo to Flu events on October 7 & 14, 2023 by calling 832-824-6355.

Registration is required to receive the flu and/or the COVID-19 vaccines but not to attend the event.

Disclaimer:

Must pre-register and be a current patient of The Center for Children and Women to receive the flu vaccine at Boo to Flu. Eligible children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Parents who are eligible to receive the flu vaccine at the event must bring a copy of their insurance card. Vaccines are limited by supply, staffing and time.

Must preregister to receive the flu vaccine at Boo to Flu. We are Texas Vaccines for Children (VFC) providers. Medicaid members get a flu vaccine at no cost. Children 0 to 18 years of age are eligible to receive vaccines through our program if they have no insurance or have Medicaid. For questions about VFC eligibility please call 832-372-9871. Please bring all immunization records. Eligible children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Vaccines are limited by supply, staffing and time.
