OB Care – 6 Days a Week and Evenings

If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, our obstetric (OB) team is here to serve you. We make sure you and your baby get the best care possible. Our OB team is here 6 days a week and until 7 p.m. weeknights.  We are also open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for your convenience.

We offer:

  • Prenatal care.
  • Ultrasound/Sonograms.
  • 24-Hour Nurse Help Line.
  • Birth control.
  • Private delivery at CHI St. Luke’s—The Vintage Hospital.

CenteringPregnancy®

We offer a new type of prenatal care called CenteringPregnancy®. This new program puts together a group of moms whose babies are due at the same time.

CenteringPregnancy® helps groups of expecting moms:

  • Meet together regularly.
  • Learn care skills.
  • Join in discussions.
  • Develop a support network with other group members.

Each pregnancy group meets for a total of 10 sessions through pregnancy and early post-birth. Meetings last about 2 hours.

Pharmacy

We have an on-site pharmacy, so we can make sure the medications you need are ready for you without a long wait. The pharmacy and OB staff work together to make sure you know how to take your medications. The pharmacy is open 7 days a week, so you can always get your refills.

Lab Tests

We provide basic laboratory tests and x-rays. You get the results quickly while you wait. This allows your doctor to make better decisions about your care without you having to leave the building.

Dental

As an added benefit, a team from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry is here to provide the best oral health care for you. Our dentists, dental hygienists, and other professionals work closely with the other care teams on site. We are available for all primary dental needs such as:

  • Preventive services (cleanings, sealants).
  • Emergency visits.
  • General dental care (fillings, extractions, and other services).

Behavioral Health

We can help your family with behavioral and emotional issues. Our behavior team is located on site with your primary care doctor, so we can make sure we address all of your needs as a team.

Our behavioral health team consists of:

  • Social workers.
  • Therapists.
  • A psychologist.
  • A psychiatrist.

Nutrition

Our registered dietitians offer nutrition counseling that covers pregnancy and after delivery. These services can improve your pregnancy and help you have a healthy baby. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Topics include:

  • Pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness, constipation, and heartburn)
  •  Healthy weight gain
  •  Diabetes and gestational diabetes
